They came like the “March of the Penguins” across Antarctica, who overcome great obstacles in subzero climates to reproduce themselves. Last week, pastors and leaders came from nearly every world region, more than 40 countries, nearly every US state and Canadian province. They came to synergize themselves to help double the size of the global Church. Each presenter added strength to the other, to help us march forward through future challenges that may come our way. Here is some of what they said:

David Mohan: “We must pray and believe for a Billion Souls to be won in our generation. In India, we would not think of praying for anything less than a billion people.”

Stan Toler: “We are called to mature in the Christian life. If we came to church according to our spiritual maturity, many would come wearing diapers. We must bear the marks of maturity in our lives.”

Suliasi Kurulo: “If we will make ourselves available, God will make us capable.”

Marcus Lamb: “They don’t give you a prize just because you enter the race. You have to finish it!”

Live your life on the “roof of the world”! Sir Edmund Hillary coined that phrase when he climbed to the top of Mount Everest in 1953. Living our lives on the roof of the world means:

• We choose to take the long look instead of the short look.
• We choose to face fear forward and move higher with each day.
• We choose to live a big-spirited life and do not allow the small thinking of some to discourage or distract us.
• We choose to claim, climb and conquer the greatest obstacles to fulfilling the Great Commission.
• We choose to add value to our fellow leaders, helping them to reach their maximum potential.
• We choose to look upward, keeping our focus on God-given goals.
• We choose to put the cross of Christ on the roof of our world so that everyone may know who Jesus is in our lifetime.

As we move forward into 2010, let’s breathe a bit deeper, believe a measure larger, climb a rung higher, think a thought bigger, and speak a word louder until together we place the cross of Christ on the roof of the world. Blessings!
