Dear Visionary Leader,
As the world was riveted on the World Cup final in South Africa last Sunday, up on a mountain in France, a seven-time champion wrote off his chances of victory in his 13th and last Tour de France. Thus came the end of one of the most celebrated and controversial careers in cycling history. The 38-year-old Texan's hopes were dashed after he was caught in three crashes, banged up his hip and struggled to keep up in two rugged climbs into the Alps during Stage 8. “My Tour is finished,” Lance Armstrong said.
In 2005, Lance Armstrong gave one of the great championship insights of all time during an interview following his seventh straight Tour De France win. An interviewer asked, “What is the most important thing about getting ready for the Tour De France?”
Lance answered, “February.”
The interviewer asked, “Why do you say February?”
Armstrong stated, “It is how one trains in February that determines the outcome in July.”
It is how we train when no one is watching that determines whether or not we will become champions.
This month, the first installment of a new training series entitled “Moving Beyond the Limits” will be released. Each message transcript of this series is downloadable on www.Billion.tv. The first message is from Dr. Jack Hayford entitled, “The Biblical Principles of A Supernatural Church.” This series will help you tremendously as you train alone, in order to become one of God’s great champions!

In the past, it was important “where” a person gained formal education. Now and in the future it is more important "who" taught the person. Training is undergoing a major shift. The global church is making the shift from everyone doing their own thing to networking like never before in order to fulfill the Great Commission. Gaining research from Ed Stetzer is everyone’s prerogative. Studying the classics from Elmer Towns and Walter Kaiser is everyone’s privilege.
Dr. Ronnie Floyd, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church and Church At Pinnacle Hills, both in Springdale, Arkansas, and Chairman of the Great Commission Resurgence, highlights global networking with:
The Great Commission Resurgence Report and Recommendation that were adopted on June 15, 2010, in an overwhelming manner by the Southern Baptist Convention, will open the door to a much greater commitment to world evangelization. This denomination comprised of over 50,000 churches and congregations has made a strong commitment to presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every person in the world and to making disciples of all the nations. This strong commitment will open doors for networking with their two mission boards, with churches and the state conventions that comprise the work of Southern Baptists. Church planting, evangelism, and missionary support will be able to go to an entirely different level as it becomes more focused on the strong and deep conviction of penetrating the lostness of North America and the world. We call upon Southern Baptists to affirm the North American Mission Board with a priority to plant churches in North America, reach our cities and underserved regions and people groups, and clarify its role to lead and accomplish efforts to reach North America with the Gospel. We believe that the greatest days of Southern Baptists are ahead and that other churches will desire to join us in this massive effort of seeing a Great Commission Resurgence.
We are living in an incomparable era where the global Church wants to synergize efforts like never before. I encourage you to network with a fellow pastor in your community this week. Remember, those who are not networking one day will be not working. Blessings!
Until The Last Person Has Heard, James O. Davis COCHAIR/Global Networking COFOUNDER/Billion Soul
